6 Months

Our sweet Ava is now 6 months old. I can hardly believe it's been a half a year since our family was blessed by her arrival! Ava now weighs 13lbs 5oz (7th percentile) and is 26.5" long (70th percentile). Based on her percentiles, we describe Ava as "long and lean" :-) During this 6th month Ava learned to sit-up unsupported. That opens a whole new world for her..and us! We can now sit Ava on a blanket with a few toys and she can "play" by herself! She rolls over easily, and actually now prefers to roll to her tummy while sleeping. She loves to chew on everything (still waiting for a first tooth to arrive!) so we are extra careful to watch what she can reach...especially since many of Owen's toys are not mouth friendly (ie: matchbox cars). Ava is a great sleeper, taking 2-3 naps per day and sleeping 12 hours at night (although still up once to eat around 3am). She is a happy, smiley, easy baby. She is such a joy, and we are so very blessed. We love you Ava! And we are excited to watch you grow, develop, and experience more of your "firsts" during the next 6 months! Up next...solid foods!

Bonus Pictures: Ava in her "prayer dress" - a beautiful Cinderella dress that Linnea's mom bought for Ava before she was born. She kept it hanging in her own closet and when she would see it, she would pray for Ava and her growth and development. We are so blessed by all of the prayers and love that covered Ava long before her arrival.

Fall Festivities

Pumpkin Patch, Farm Visit, Harvest Festival, Halloween Carnival, Trick-or-Treat

...it must be October!

First time golfing (during a festival in our town)! The funniest part of this experience is that when Owen had a chance to try hitting the ball on his own, he decided that if the point was to hit the ball in the water, why use the silly club when he can just pick up the ball and throw it! Gotta commend his efficiency :)

I'll be glad when we're beyond the phase of Owen actually saying "cheese" during pictures. Sure doesn't make for a good smile!

Elmo with cat whiskers? Why not!
